1. Does Qi Kwan Do Have Competitions?
Yes. Some people may find that they benefit from training in a competitive environment. Qi Kwan Do is a member of the World Kick-Boxing Karate Association (WKA) which organises competitions worldwide. Qi Kwan Do also has optional Sparring Competitions, Weapons Kata Competitions, And Kata Forms competitions at the ‘Extravaganza’s’.
2. Are Qi Kwan Do Instructors Qualified?
Yes. All Qi Kwan Do Chief instructors are black belts who have studied Qi Kwan Do in great detail and have taken an assistant instructor course and also assisted a Chief Instructor. To qualify as a Chief Instructor involves passing an extensive course of examinations.
All instructors (chief and assistant) are first checked by the police and their schools and students are fully insured. Instructors must hold a current first aid certificate and be registered with the Amateur Martial Arts Association (AMA).
3. How Much Does it Cost?

4. What Are Life Skills?
A: We teach children, teenagers & adults certain essential life skills such as Courtesy, Integrity & perseverence. With these tools individuals progress in life.
5. Will My Child Get Injured?
A: Qi Kwan Do teach in a safe manner, at all times the instructor points out dangers and how to avoid them. Qi Kwan Do DO NOT carry out full contact activities. Students are also urged to purchase certain safety equipment which will in-turn heighten a students’ enjoyment.
6. Will This Turn My Child Into A Bully?
A: We take bullying very seriously at Qi Kwan Do, from the first session of training students are taught that their skills are for self-defence of them and their family.
7. What Should Wear?
A: On your first introduction session you will learn some simple and basic techniques, loose fitting clothing (light tee-shirt and track bottoms) will be fine. Please also bring a drink (not fizzy)
8. Am I Too Old?
A: Qi Kwan Do is designed on the principal of circular (Qi) movements to prevent injury. Students are also not expected to start of with black belt balance and flexibilty, this is why Qi Kwan Do is perfect for every age, even seniors.
9. What Will I Learn?
A: At a Qi Kwan Do academy you will be learning many skills, not only will you be learning Self Defence, you will be finding more confidence, learning to improve your flexibility and fitness which will help you in your everyday life.
10. Do I Have To Fight Anyone?
A: Qikwando does offer instruction in controlled ‘Sparring: however this is an option and not mandatory, many student go throughout their entre training process without ever sparring.
11. Will There Be Weapons Training?
A: Qikwando does offer weapons training however again this is an optional skill and is not mandatory for your traininig
